Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

juenille arrest again

Do minors have rights? The arresting officer told the child that she would end up with probation and it would cost the mother $2,000. Should I be preparing for this? What are average court costs in these cases? and the letter of apology should be written to Whom?

Minors have the same rights as adults. Probation is a possibility, but it's extremely rare in juvenile cases for first time offenders. I don't know why the officer would say that the case would end up costing $2000. Maybe the officer was including the attorney fee. The court costs vary between counties. The letter of apology, if one is assessed as part of the sentence, it's usually written to the party from whom the property was stolen.
