Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
it this justified
I was a resident of the escambia county work release program of florida. I was sitting there eating in the parking lot, when an officer approached me saying that They received a call of a suspicious person sitting in a car. He ashed for my drivers licance and I gave them to him He called me in and I came back 1034 local, Which means everything checked out. Then the officer demanded me to step out of the car and began searching me he found nothing. He then asked for permission to search the car I replied that this is not my car but he could call and ask for permission from the owner. He then handcuffed me and put me in the back of the police car. He then called for a K-9 unit. The dog alerted and then drugs were found in the center console. I was then charged with trafficking. Did they have probable cause. My private attorney says everything the police did was justified, and things are not looking good for me. What do you think?

All you describe should be tested by a motion to suppress evidence. Tell your attorney that you want him/her to file a motion to suppress. If he/she doesn't you need to consider retaining another lawyer.
