Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Juvenile Case..HELP!

Well, My son he's 15. A teacher pushed him and grabbed his head, my son grabbed a folder of his desk and threw at him. But the teacher states that my son phisically punched him, but the whole class was there and they say that he threw him the folder and it didnt hit his face, just his body. My son got arrested, and now we are waiting for court day, what can happen? Can they take him to prison or something? Im confused and worried, and so is he to. Because no one wants to believe him that the teacher used physically activities with him. First. So what Can I expect?

It is ok to be concerned about your son's case; he is potentially facing felony charges. While he did not actually hit the teacher with his fist he may still be charged with felony battery on a school official.

His age along with lack of a criminal charges may help avoid being sentenced to a juvenile program; however, there are other long term consequences.

Most importanly the felony charge will prohibit him from reciving any state aid or other scholarships for college.

Further it may keep him out of the college of his choice.

Not trying to scare you but I would move quickly on this one if your son has long term career goals.
