Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Law regarding diversion programs
I have had a previous diversion (pti) program implemented for false imprisonment and battery that i exercised (due to avoiding a criminal trial) 10 years ago. Currently i have the state trying to prosecute me on child abuse charges s827.03(1)(3). What options do i have regarding going into a pretrial program to avoid a long trial, possible jail time, and a possible false conviction on my record?

Re: Law regarding diversion programs
Most prosecutors won't give pti to someone you eithr has had it before or who has any prior. It it not against the law, but against policy. Also remember is the lowest lowest posssible sanction and only offered for the the weakest and most minor cases.
