Re: Legal action on death threat
If you genuinely believe the threat to be genuine and not the product of a childish prank, contact the police and make a police report immediately. Once you have filed a police report, you will be provided with a police case number. Be aware the police may simply take the information about the threats over the phone. You should then contact the phone company and report the threat to your phone company. All phone companies have a security department and they have many options they utilize to identify people making threats. Obviously, you will only be successful in identifying the person or persons involved, if the threats continue. The company usually puts a "trap and trace" device on your phone line to identify the threat maker. Once identified, either the phone company or the police may take further action, as this conduct may violate state and federal statutes. Good luck.
