Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Legal actions against daughters boyfriend
I'm not sure if I categorized this question in the correct area, but I didn't know which one it fit into.
My sister is 16 years of age and is 'dating' a 21 year old. The problem is that he has proven time and time again that he is irresponsible. He repeatedly helps my sister sneak out of the house, usually at night and sometimes for days at a time, lies about it, and got my sister in a car crash on one of the times she snuck out.
My parents have given him multiple chances and he's failed every one. It's not like they didn't let them go out. They let him come over many times and let the two of them go out to movies and dinner many times as well. Now they are fed up with the lies and irresponsibility and want to know if there is anything legally that can be done to keep him away, since neither my sister nor him have any common sense.

Re: Legal actions against daughters boyfriend
My heart goes out to you.... Technically he can be charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. It may be difficult to get a state attorney's office to file it until you can clearly establish that you have done everything to stop the relationship. If your daughter is not willing to listen to you and stop seeing him it will be difficult. The statute number is 827.04.
