Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

library fees and charges

can a city's library system legally

pursue collection fees & replacement charges from you they

say you owe due to pages missing or lost- Used library books?

even if you ''didn't'' damage them, though some did have missing pgs I saw at home, and I ret'd all 40 books or so at drop- off boxs. How can you prove missing pages were absent before I got books and they weren't chec'd good prior to my getting? Don't know if I have the right area of law pertaining to this?

I would not do such a thing as could

buy new books cheaper than library prices, from web bk site and used ones like library ones even cheaper from them too. Some of the books stated were very used &

old. I even had to tape some loose

bindings/pgs, myself, & some I didn't even get a chance to look at. At 2 sites I checked out from, was told I could visit their book store & return later to pick up my books they were checking out to me. Hour later, I retur'd to counter to pick them up & my bks were gone. They had been put Under counter in ret'd book area, but they retreived some and did some computer work again. At home, I realized that some of them I'd not picked out myself to ck out, don't know what happened. What options do I have

to Not have to pay for others deeds?

Re: library fees and charges

Yes, they can. Your story sounds completely fishy, by the way.
