Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Hi, I live in Florida and almost 2 years ago, I was charged with leaving a scene of an accident, which was a 2nd degree misdemeanor. I was not arrested and was instead given a ticket for the offense. I ended up doing a diversion program, which I have successfully completed and have not had any legal problems since.
When employers and school admissions committee do a criminal background check on me, will the diversion show up? Should I get it expunged as soon as I can, and if I should, then how long will the process take?
Thank you for your answer!

It might show up, it depends on how extensive a background check they do. I suggest you get the charge sealed or expunged just to be sure. The process can take several months but it will be worth it in the end.
