Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I live in Osceola county Florida. I was arrested after police found an empty bag of what they say they tested and confirmed was cocaine. They are charging me with possession. I can't afford to not have my license for 2 years. It was an empty bag. Could this easily be talked down to a misdemeanor paraphernalia charge? Pretty much what I am asking is that do I have to hire a private attorney or do you think a pub def could handle it?

This is a viable issue for you if the bag was empty. The truth is public defenders are real attorneys and many of them are very good. You do not get to choose your public defender so it is the luck of the draw. However, they all are overburdened with huge case loads and often cannot give an individual case or client the attention and time they need. If you can get a private attorney then it is advisable that you do because the private attorney should most definitely devote more time and attention to you and your case, which will give them the opportunity to address this issue more thoroughly.
