Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I live in the state of florida, and am 19 years old. I was caught with 10 grams of marijuana and a pipe so i got a possesion charge of marijuana and another for the pipe. When i was 17 i got arrested for an armed robbery charge that got knocked down to conspiracy. I go to school full time (studying biology), and work 2 jobs (each part time). Im a good kid minus the lapse in judgement i had when i was 17. What are the odds of me going to jail?

In general it is pretty low since your offense is a minor Misdemeanor. How they chose to sentence you on the original charge can be a factor. If you were sentenced as a juvenile, then you should be fine. If for some reason you were sentenced as an adult and are currently on probation for that charge, then you could have serious problems. A first offense Marijuana charge generally results in either a fine, or probation with drug testing. You may be eligible for a diversion program to have this arrest dismissed, but that will depend on how the prior incident was treated. It is a good idea to speak with an attorney since a marijuana charge can also impact your driver's license.
