Most theft/fraud charges have 5 year statute of limitations. However, that time period for all time spent outside the state is tolled, and does not run. The state gets exceptions and extensions, but I suggest you contact an attorney to help you take care of it. You MAY not have to return if you take care of matters through your attorney. Contact one in the area where you are charged.
