Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I was living in massachussetts, receiving foodstamps, , i decided to move back to florida so i applied online for benefits 2 days before my trip.. In mass i called my caseworker to close my benefits,, as i arrived to florida that same week i applied my emergency benefits were approved,,came to find out that the caseworker from mass didnt close my case ,, i ended up receiving benefits frim two states at the same time.. Not knowing i used $300 from mass card.. Now in florida they are asking for proof of residence in order to determine if im eligible,, im afraid to get charged with fraud,, in reality they were not my intensions,, can someone help me? Let me add that both parties were tol about me receiving benefits, i never denied it.

If your intent was to get benefits from Florida because you were going to live in Florida, even if it turned out to be a short period of time, then you shouldn't be charged. However, you really need to sit down with an attorney in your area to see if there may be other facts that could cause them to charge you with something.
