they have 180 days from arrest to take your case to trial if you do not waive speedy trial

Re: how long do they have

The state has 175 days to bring you to trial. Good luck. After they drop the charges, give me a call and I'll expunge the case for you so it doesn't show up on background checks and you can legally deny that it ever even happened.

There is a long time yet in which to bring you to trial. In order to expedite it, you may wish to file a demand for speedy trial. That will get the attention of the State Attorney's office and will usually get them to schedule something sooner.
