How long can charges be pending before an arrest has to be made and charges be brought against

It depends on the statute of limitations for that specific charge. For example, murder has no statute of limitations and can be brought at any time, but a first degree misdemeanor must be brought within two years of the offense. If you have pending charges, contact an attorney before charges are brought.
