Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

how long can LEOs hold my personal belongings as evidence? There is no case on file. I guess thier building a case? I'm not doing anytihng illegall, so what's going to happen here?

Additiional Details:

I was assulted and battereied by a conviceted felon that walked directly into the house (unlocked door) immediately he started hittting me; he was a large man, with proven record for batteries including batteriees on a LEO. A friend seperateed us and not be able to escape I ran into my bedroom and prepared to defend myself with my .357 S&W . I warned him not to pursue me any further but at that point he got lunged at me and I fired a round into hisleg/thigh. It was superficical and he is recovered now. The state has droped those charges against me after a week in jail and I got the gun back.

While the officers were in the house the found marijuana and a possible very old weak steroid that I don't even know why I had it. They also confinscated my prescription valium ( I did orer some online).

They destroyed all paraphanelia outside my yard after taking pictures. It's been sinve Jan. 16th 2012.

My question: When do I get my stuff back and is this guy still investigating me?

Thank you so much for the time.

You are entitled to your property once the case is over with. However, it doesn't sound like your case is completely over with. You said they found marijuana, valium, and paraphernalia. You are not entitled to get any contraband back even if it is yours and the case were dropped. What "stuff" do you want back? I would talk to an attorney in your area to see if you are allowed to get some or all things back in your possession.
