How long can someone be remanded with out a court date?
Is there a set number of days that the state has to proceed with a felony charge or can someone sit in jail indefinitely waiting for a court date?

A person arrested on a felony must be brought to trial within 180 days of his/her arrest. That period is waived if the defendant or his/hewr attorney requests a delay of the trial at any time after arrest. A person arrested for a felony can demand a speeedy trial at any time which requires the trial judge to set the person for trial within 90 days.
