How long does state of Florida have to leave a case open on grand theft 3rd degree? Been 1 year since arrested and 1/11/2017 last court date

Sometimes it can take months or even years. There really is no time limit once the case gets started. However you do have the right to a speedy trial but you need to talk to your attorney about that specifically.
