Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
How long can they keep someone for a VOP(violation of probation)in jail before they have to see the judge who put them there? They have given them a public defender who is the worst i have ever seen,if you change lawyers can they move your court date further back? The land O' lakes jail will not give this person her religious items she needs and she suffers from deep depression with no medication.

There is no exact time limit, but what is reasonable under the circumstances. For example, after a couple months on a misdemeanor there should be some resolution. On the other hand, more serious felonies may take several months before they are resolved. He needs to talk to his attorney in order to expedite matters.
