how long can you wait to file charges

If a kid is arrested, but released to parents,and has a hearing in juvi court but it is postponed,how long do they have to reschedule and charge kid with crime or waive them up to a adult in the state of florida. pls help me it is my son. I am sure they waited too long,to file...

They can hold him in detention for 21 days pending direct file adult review, but they can charge him a year later, they just cant hold him that long. I handle a lot of juveniles. Please call me if he needs a lawyer.
