Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Made a False accusation
What can happen to me if I falsely accused my boyfriend of stealing money from his employer? I left a message on his employer's voice mail saying that he had stolen money. If I go to the police and tell them that I only did it because I was mad at him, can they bring action against me?

Re: Made a False accusation
If you've made a false statement against your boyfriend, he could sue you for slander. Since you've reported it to the police, the police could charge you with filing a false police report.
