Re: minors in florida

Definitely. If he is over 23, she is jail bait. Simply kissing her can buy him a charge for the Sexual Molestation of a Minor, most likely result in a prison sentence for several years, and label him a sexual offender for the rest of his life. The childs consent is not relevant to his prosecution (although it could be relevant to mitigate his sentencing). The mother can report the relationship to the State Attorneys Office. A personal word of advice: The relationship between parents and teenagers is often strained under normal circumstances. If the mother has her daughters boyfriend put in prison, the daughter is likely to only lash out and rebel even more. The mother may consider encouraging the boyfriend to end the relationship with the threat of prosecution not that he doesnt deserve being prosecuted, but the mothers concern should be how to best protect her daughter from this predator, and from the next predator.
