Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Misdemeanor Criminal Assault Warrant (out of state)

I was assaulted by my father at his home in Lee County, Florida in January 2006. I was there visiting from California. I immediately left Florida and went back to California. I spoke with my father six weeks later and he told me that he called the police after I left and told them that he hit me in self defense. The Sherrif's department now has a warrant for my arrest. I called Lee County Sherrif's department and confirmed this. I have a photograph showing the injury that I received from my father. My father has absoultely no evidence of ever being assaulted. My father told me that he will not press charges, but he is unable to get the arrest warrant dropped.

I need help getting this resolved (I am a Missouri resident as of 02/14/06).

Thanks.
