Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Misdemeanor intervention program
I was charged with petit theft in hillsbrough county and got into MIP. I have to take a petit theft course and will not be able to make the deadline for it. Will I be able to get an extension or will I be able to take it online?

Usually they are pretty reasonable about that. Just make sure you ask before the deadline passes. Even if you are initially denied by the M.I.P. people and your case is sent back to court, you can explain what happened to the prosecutor, who has the power to send you back into the M.I.P. program.
I don't know if they have an online course.
