Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Misdemeanor Intervention Program and Violation

I was charged with petty theft in

Hillsborough County but entered the

misdemeanor intervention program

because I had no priors. Since then I

was charged with a violation in

another state. It is not a criminal

charge, only a violation, but will it

affect my being in the intervention

program?

Re: Misdemeanor Intervention Program and Violation

It could, I would try to comply with all the terms of the program as soon as possible.

If you can finish the program and have the case dismissed or nolle prossed before they find out about the new incident you will be in the clear.

However, if Hillsborough finds out about the new incident you will most likely be kicked out of the program.

If you would like to give me some more information I would be able to give you a better answer. For example the exact nature of the new issue/arrest.

Good luck,
