Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My mom was arrested for simple battery against a neighbor who was in my mom's yard and started the fight. She doesn't have income to hire a attorney. Do you think she needs one and how do you get one to defend you if you don't have money? If she doesn't really need an attorney, what's the best way to go about representing yourself?

Let me be as clear as I can on this: DO NOT HAVE HER REPRESENT HERSELF. Battery is a charge that will follow her forever. If she can't afford an attorney, she is entitled to a public defender. It may not be the best but it is MUCH better than representing herself.
