Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Getting my Money Back
I hired a graphic designer to build my website in october of 2007. It is now April and he has stopped answering and returning my calls. I believe he is a con artist that just took my money and ran. I payed him 50% (350) plus 150, equalling 500, out of the 700 total, still awaiting the website. I have the invoice he mailed and when I paid him. I just want my money back. Is this possible?

Re: Getting my Money Back
You may have to sue him in small claims court, and unless your invoice or contract with him states that the looser of any litigation pays the other's legal fees, it would probably not be worth wild to hire an attorney.
Send him a Demand Letter, stating that he has breached the contract, and demanding satisfactory completion of the website, or a total refund. Give him 30 days to comply with the demand letter. If he does not reply or comply, file a small claims suit at your local court house. The Clerk of Court can give you the forms you need to file the suit.
