Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
moving from state to state
I just moved from Michigan to Florida, I was convicted of a misdemeanor sex crime as a minor (I'm 21 now) my record is sealed but I still had to register in Michigan(the registration is also sealed, not public knowledge) I was told by a Michigan detective that if i change my registration to Florida, that i still abide by the Michigan laws, registering every 4 months, and there being no public knowledge of my record or registration. I would like to keep the information private for obvious reasons I'd rather not have to remain in Michigan just to do that. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You so much

You can register in Florida, but you must notify Michigan of your change of address before your next quarterly report.
