Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Last night our neighbor was firing a gun in his backyard. We live within the city limits of Mount Dora, Florida. Considering Florida's new law, we didn't even bother to complain because it appears that the police can no longer do anything. Should we have reported it? Are they helpless against this sort of thing now?

Florida's new law is actually several years old. If you hear gunfire where you shouldn't then yes you can report it. He very well may have violated local ordinances or possibly hurt or injured someone, or something that he shouldn't have. Call the police.
