Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

nolle pros-comp pti

i need some explanation for the above mentioned term. thi swas the disposition of the case. i also would like to know what could that imply if a school look at your criminal record for acceptance. the supposed charge was ''petit theft''. i am saying suppossed b/c it was a big misunderstanding and i believe the police did not want to get involved wiht the other part. would they look at both the disposition and the charge, or just to the outcome of the case?

please help

Re: nolle pros-comp pti

This means that the charges were dropped after completing a pretrial diversion program. The charges will still show up on a background check along with this disposition. As long as you have no other criminal cases wherein you were adjudicated guilty you are eligible to have this case expunged so it doesn't come up on background checks. Questions? Please feel free to email me.
