Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

nollo prosequi

I recently was judged ''nolo prosequi'' on a misdemeanor possesion of pot charge. The case was discharged by the judge. No fine or penalty was issued, other than attending a pretrial diversion class. Were the charges dismissed, dropped or was I found innocent of the charges. What about disclosing this information to future potential employers. what should I tell them.

Re: nollo prosequi

The charges were dismissed, and you can lawfully deny that you have ever been convicted of this charge on any future job application, and you need not list it on any job application.

Re: nollo prosequi

It means that the case has been officially dismissed by the State. You can lawfully deny you were ever convicted of this offense. However, the arrest and related criminal history will still show up on a backround check.

If you have no otehr criminal record you would be eligible to get this offense expunged. Please call me if you would like to initiate the process.
