Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Obstruction of Justice

I received an obstruction of justice, resisting without violence charge. I'm trying to determine what the punishment is for a first time offense and if I should hire a lawyer, or not.

Re: Obstruction of Justice

The punishment depends on a variety of factors, including whether or not you have any prior arrests, convictions, or charges. Also, it depends on the input from the victim in the case.

Given the simplicity of the charges, the fee for representation will likely not be too expensive. If you would like more information, please contact my office at your convenience.

The judge will require you have a lawyer. It is a misdemeanor but it carries jail time and a conviction will be on your record forever. Call me if you would like to retain counsel.
