Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

obtaining unemployment by fraud

I was charged with obtaining unemployment by fraud, should I go to unemployment myself and try to get a payment plan before I go to court? will that show good faith in my part. I have never ever been in trouble.

Your post does not appear to provide enough information to properly respond.

Are you being charged criminally? or has a demand been made for you to repay the money?

If criminal charges are pending you should consult with a criminal attorney in the jurisdiction where the charge is filed immediately. Given that you are currently in Hawaii and the action is in Florida I assume that you are not in custody. Have you been arrested?

If this is being handled in a civil court or through an administrative proceeding that is an entirely different story, but you should probably at least talk to an attorney who specializes in civil matters.

If I can be of any assistance, you can contact me through the information on my profile page.
