Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
i was offerd a 1st time offender program at my arraignment if i plead no contest. if i successfully completed the six week course, the charges would be dismissed. but i plead not gultiy. if im found gulity in court, will that program still be an option. if not can i change my plea at my pre-trial?

Possibly, but it is a program run at the sole discretion of the state attorney's office. They might take the option off the table. Getting yourself an attorney will greatly increase your chances. Furthermore, you can talk about any defenses to get the charge reduced or dismissed.
