Yes you need to hire a lawyer to sort it out.
Re: outstanding warrent
It is not unusual that something like that, from that long ago, would not be noticed. It could, however, cause you problems later on if it is not sorted out. For example, if you are coming back into the country after your trip abroad, Customs could spot the warrant and have you taken into custody.
I am located in Tampa, and could assist you in resolving this. If you would like to discuss it further, please contact my office at your convenience.
Re: outstanding warrent
I agree with both of the previous answers that you need an experienced criminal attorney to clear up this matter for you.
While this warrant may have "slipped through the cracks" when you applied for your passport or obtained your TSA clearance, you'll want to make sure that the same warrant isn't ENFORCED at a time that is incovenient for you, i.e., while at work, with your family, etc.
I would be more than happy to assist you in clearing up this matter. My office handles criminal and traffic-related matters throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Good luck.
