Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I owe my lawyer money from the trial. Does he have the right to keep the case file from me until I pay him?

Your lawyer does not have the right to keep the case file, but he does have the right to charge you for copy costs associated with returning its contents. Also, depending on your contract, your lawyer would still be entitled to whatever monies are owed due to his representation, regardless of outcome.
