I'm sorry I can't follow your question. There is no time limit. There is $2,000 covers this service; or $5,000 more covers this service. For example: I will negotiate with the prosecutor and try to get the best offer for you for $2,000 or $3,000 or whatever. Then, if you decide to go to trial, I want another $5,000. If a attorney has done any work on an hourly rate then he can keep whatever he has done 4 hours, 8 hours, whatever. If it is a flat fee like $2,000 for DUI, $4,000 for aggravated battery and he has not done any work at all: I mean no phone calls, no appearances in court, no writing motions, no legal research, no calling expert witnesses, no nothing at all, then you should get the money back. I hope that helps. If he has done work, then he should put in writing what he has done.
