Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

if a person is released freom jail on ROR and you already have been told the case is going to be dropped that person is not a resident of the state he was charged in can they leave the state as long as they return for the court date? defendant was on vacation in florida from new york visiting family had altercation and was arrested for pushing family. has no place to go in florida and they want him to wait 6-8 weeks for a court date wich we have been told he may not need to come for first appearance. he is starting school here in new york and cannott stay in florida. he will fly down for court date.

You should check with the bondsman and see if staying is Florida is a condition of the bond. You may need a court order.
