Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

how do i go about petioning the judge to re-open a criminal case that was sealed a few years back...it was a misdemeanor theft charge. Immigration wants the case re-opened so that i can provide them with certified copies of the case itself and its disposition.

File a moton to unseal. There's no standard motion for this, since it's almost never done, but you can make something up on your own, and the judge should be able to get the gist of what you are doing and why. Set the motion for a hearing by calling the clerk or the judge's office and explain to the judge what you need.
