Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have had this petty theft Misdemeanor on my record for over five years now! I cannot get it sealed or expunged due to the fact it is an adjudicated guilt. I have heard of a pardon but have no clue how it affects me from my conviction? is there away to have this removed from my record legally after certain amount of time?

Every jurisdiction has its own process & prerequisites to seal or expunge a record. Here in Florida, you cannot seal or expunge your record of ANY charge if you have been convicted of any offense. I am unaware of whether the pardon process accommodates misdemeanor offense (to my knowledge it does not) but you may be able to secure additional information regarding your eligibility on line.

You don't have the option to seal or expunge. You can certainly try to ask for a pardon, but just understand two things. First, it will take several years. Second, the charge will remain on your record, you will just no longer be considered convicted of the charge.
