Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was picked up on Friday for a worthless check warrant issued in 2007 that I had no idea about. I am pretty sure I made restitution on this check because if I hadnt the company would have reposessed the equipment, however I do not have any of the paperwork to prove it. I have a court date on the 27th and paid a cash bond. Can I pay restititution again and have the court date cancelled?

No. Restitution is not a legal defense to the crime, but it generally does affect your sentence. You need to take the steps to show that you have made resitution, and be able to prove that. Contact the person or company you wrote the bad check to and enlist their help.
