Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Can a Plea in Absentia be filed in a Georgia Domestic Violence case? Attended arraignment and entered a not guilty plea while in GA. Wish to change plea to guilty; I've since relocated to FL and been through a 6mth rehab program which has delayed court hearings in GA (judge has continued trail dates). Plus now I have medical conditions (on oxygen therapy). Also currently continuing counseling and therapy, not too mention the financial burden. I'm a veteran who has lost everything and has voluntarily taken accountability, hoping for leniency from Georgia State Court.
