Can plea mistake be corrected?

My boyfriend recently took a plea deal of work release. When turning himself in, he found out that there was a mistake in the paperwork and it is registered that he is supposed to do the 6 months in county jail. My question, can the judge have changed the plea because he did not accept? Or if it is a mistake, can it be fixed? Most importantly..how long would it take? He already had a job and might lose it because of this. He has been in jail now for almost a week.
