Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

plead no contest to 1st offense DUI, at the time I had been injured in a fall and was unable to do work of any kind. when I asked my public defender how I was expected to pay fines, probation costs, the fees for dui school and MADD, and do 50 hrs community service when I was told by physician no work for 18 months or longer; his reply was contact him if there are any problems. I am now trying to fight vop in same case and he said he is not required to represent me. Am I still legally a client of the Public Defenders office in this matter?

The judge will probably re-appoint the public defender to represent you when the vop goes through. If your financial condition hasn't changed any, then they will appoint the PD for your vop case.
