It depends. Typically, a drug dog that is properly trained and has an established history can provide the police with probable cause to search your vehicle. However, there are a lot of factors that only an experienced criminal attorney would need to look at (like why the police dog was out there to begin with?). For instance, if you were stopped for sppeding... the police can only keep you waiting for the time it would typically take them to write you your ticket. They cannot make you wait 45 minutes for the drug dog to come from another town. There are a lot of other nuances that an attorney needs to look at. What was ultimately found? If it was a felony and/or trafficking amount of drugs, then you DEFINITELY need an attorney to review your case for you.

Typically yes. However, factors including how long you were detained and reason for the stop of your car may be a defense.
