Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
When can police enter my home?
If my friend is over and has a warrant for his arrest (think it is a felony.... not sure), and the police find out he is there, can they barge into my home even though I say No? Do they need a search warrant to get in? Thanks

Re: When can police enter my home?
Hello: I just read your question. Since I do not have all of the facts of your friend's case nor do I know what jurisdiction you live in, I can't give a formal legal opinion. But, as an overview of Fla. law and his case, an arrest warrant does allow police to enter a home. I have not researched this in a while, but I believe the law requires them to knock and announce who they are. There prob. are exceptions to that rule.
He may want to contact an atty., ask him/her call the judge and ask for the warrant to be withdrawn and give him a court date to appear and try to dispose of the case. 'Hope this helps. Tom Rosenblum
