Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Can the police hold a charge against you indefinitely? I was never technically arrested nor charged I was told and they said as long as I cooperate they would help me and maybe even drop the charges. I have been 100% cooperative and have helped them to identify many local drug dealers yet they keep demanding more from me. I have nothing left to give them yet they keep dangling my charges over my head and demanding more. Can they really just charge me anytime for my crime? My crime was possession of two hits of LSD. I was tripping and got caught but even then I was very cooperative, admitting I had two hits left and even handing them over to the police despite the fact I knew I would be charged...yeah I'm just a nice kid like that, I should have told em to screw off.

Now you see the pitfalls of "cooperation." You need to talk to an attorney that can speak for you now and have things put in writing about when your cooperation will end. Otherwise they will hold this over you for the length of the statute of limitations (which is probably 3 or 4 years depending on amounts and other things).
