Hard to say how "likely" something can be without knowing a lot more information. What matters is how the cops determined it was you. The witness maybe knows you personally. Maybe the license plate info was taken down and you are associated with the car and a photo lineup was used with your image inserted. This will simply be an ID case. It is impossible to say how likely anything is, especially without knowing more information. Who is this witness? How well did they get to look at you? How credible do they appear? Did they have an opportunity to see you? These are all things we can't know for sure.
