Police say they can not help?
Hello and thank you for your time.
My question is, What are my Rights for getting my car back?
On 09/26/06 I went out celebrating my birthday, let someone use my car to ''do a beer run'', and they have never returned. We had been using some drugs, and therefor were not in the best of neighborhoods. The police said that they could not do anything for me because I gave him the keys to the car, and therefor makes it a civil matter.
I still do not have my car, and need something to at least be able to file a claim with my insurance.
What can I do?

Sounds like they think you made a drug car loan. You are still entitled to report the car stolen if it is not returned to you.
