A previous vendor has just been awarded a civil judgement against me. He also filed a criminal suit and there is restitution involved. Can he been awarded both?

No, restitution only entitles a person, in layman's terms, to whatever he is out of pocket for the fair market value of that person's loss and sometimes reasonably foreseeable expenses associated with that loss. The vendor could bring a civil suit also but any money he received in restitution would be subtracted from that final judgment.

I agree that the Plaintiff cannot recover the amounts in both cases. Any pymts. collected would offset any amounts owed in the other case. If you need any assistance in N. Florida, please give my office a call. Tom Rosenblum
