Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Probable Cause of Theft Shoplifting

My daughter was arrested yesterday at her place of work, because a detective claimed that she had probable causes on her committing a crime via a video at a retail store. My daughter was out of town Thursday to Sunday, when business card was left on door at home and car, with her name on it. Detective claimed someone should have called and let her know daughter was out of town. We thought this had to do with a car insurance claim happening at the same time. My daughter never saw the card to call detective, so they arrested her yesterday at work for failure to respond. They've jeopardized her job. Her employer wants further details to case, we don't have. We had to bail her out and post bond with a bondsman. My daughter says she never did walk out of the store with anything to have charges of theft but she did wrestle with an unknown woman from the store and gave the store items back. My daughter claims she realized what she was doing was wrong, and she was so scared she ran out the store; the lady said she wouldn't press charges; but now two months later, they are trying to charge her for this. Please advise, if we have a chance to fight this in court before The Judge. Thank you.

Re: Probable Cause of Theft Shoplifting

Even if your daughter had responded she would have been arrested. She is facing some serious charges and she should hire a lawyer. Pls call if you are interested.
